The Friends of the Bristol Public Library will hold its annual Winter Used Book Sale from Wednesday, March 1 to Sunday, March 5 in the meeting rooms in the lower level of the Bristol Library, 5 High Street, Bristol. The sale includes more than eight thousand gently used hardcover and softcover books, DVDs, audio books and CDs. Books are priced from $.25 to $2.00, and this year we have a large selection of specially priced books.
The sale opens with Preview Night (a $5.00 admission fee applies) on Wednesday, March 1 from 3:00 to 7:00PM. Regular sale hours (free admission) are Thursday, March 2 from 9:00AM to 7:00PM; Friday, March 3 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM; Saturday, March 4 from 9:00AM to 4:00 PM; Sunday, March 5 from 1:00 to 3:00PM.
Books will be sold at half-price all day Saturday, and the sale closes on Sunday with a fill-the-bag sale ($5.00 for a brown bag and $3.00 for a plastic bag) from 1:00 to 3:00PM. Specially priced books are not included in the half-price and bag sales, but will be available for purchase.
The Winter Used Book Sale is the Friends’ primary fundraising event, and the proceeds help provide the Bristol libraries with items and services not included in the annual budget, such as summer reading programs for adults, teens and children, museum passes, and Friends-sponsored special programs. All of the items in the sale were donated by community members, and the Friends appreciate the generosity that makes this fundraiser possible.
