The Bristol Public Library has received a commendation from the Department of Defense for being a Top Performer in the official Vietnam War Commemoration. Bristol Public Library is ranked in the top 15% of the more than 13,000 organizations participating in the commemoration. The library has worked with local veteran’s organizations to host events such as commemorative pinning ceremonies in which Vietnam veterans received the official Department of Defense thank you pin via the library, The dedication of a permanent exhibit of memorial items placed at the Wall that Heals/Vietnam Travelling Wall for Bristol Veterans, A Commemorative event for spouses of Vietnam Veterans, and educational programs concerning the Vietnam conflict.
